So a little background info...Colt is now almost 6 months old! Seriously where has the time gone. I look at him and it is almost hard to imagine that just a short time ago he was in my belly doing acrobatics!! It's almost harder to imagine that he used to be an 8lb. 4oz. baby...I believe now we are well over 17lbs. And trust me he's a hearty eater just like his momma (hence why losing these last few baby pounds is so freaking hard). We recently started Colt on baby food and let me tell you it has been an adventure!!
We have been truly blessed with such an amazingly laid back, happy baby who from the very beginning has been a champion sleeper but unfortunately about a month ago that all stopped. Bring on the rice cereal. Colt loved the tasteless mush but it didn't help mommy get more sleep. After about 2 weeks of running off of 4-5 hours a sleep a night and then having to work full time I gave in and started Colt on baby food a little early. Insert the GaG-a-MaG!!
I've never thought of myself as having a weak stomach, in fact I think I can hold my own pretty well when it comes to blood, guts, gory movies ect. But then there was baby food and poop...
{insert side note: it's amazing how much my friends and I have grown when our conversations now revolve around our babies and their poop :) love it}
We started with carrots. Not so bad. Smelled like the real deal which I could handle and Colt LOVED them which was even better! But remember what goes in must come out. I believe our daycare lady Mrs. Jean described it best "an orange clay". GaG-a-MaG. Not to mention that along with these nasty poops comes the most foul smelling gas. I love my son more than anything in this world but man his rump stinks haha I guess he got that from his daddy! Carrots were a huge hit though especially once Colt found out he could blow bubbles with food in his mouth causing a volcano eruption of food all over himself, his high chair and myself. Priceless.
Green beans were next and they too were a huge hit. Last night while at my mom's house I decided to make bananas...well mushed them...but you get the point. I've never been a fan of bananas...like ever...it literally took everything in my power not to throw up at the smell and sight of them. I don't want Colt to grow up to be a picky eater like myself but how am I supposed to continue to give him foods that make me want to vomit!? Maybe I should invest in a clothes pin to plug my nose. I'm sure Colt would find that to be hilarious :)
Well back to the real world now full of laughter and squeals from my super adorable son! I love my life :) we might be on the CrAzY train but I wouldn't trade it for the world!
