Workin' 9 to 5

Ok so I really work 8:30 to 5:30 but who's keeping track :)

Going back to work after being on maternity leave was bitter sweet. It was nice to have the adult interaction again and to have a little bit of time to myself but I missed my sweet baby boy more than words can express!! The first month was rough...I was lucky if I got out of the house with pants on but with time, a lot of organizing and some smart planning things got easier. Most days I can get up, shower, feed Colt and get us both ready, take Colt to Mrs. Jean's (our at home daycare lady) and with fingers crossed make it to work without getting a speeding ticket.

I hate the fact that I can't be a stay at home mom with my little guy but somebody has to pay the bills and what can I say I'm my husbands sugar momma so I have to keep the green flowing...ok not really but I wish I was :) Being a full-time working momma is hard at times but it makes the time I do get to spend with Colt aMaZiNg!!I think the highlight of my day is when I go to pick him and his face lights up when he finally realizes that I'm there. It doesn't matter how crappy of day I had seeing him smile makes me forget everything. He melts my heart.

Dinner time is probably the second greatest part of my day.

He's got that look..."mom seriously hurry up and feed me I'm starving!!"

{Side note: We are still on bananas and oh my goodness I think Ben is going to have to take over when we eat them but I gag every time I smell them. Next on the menu sweet potatoes! Should be interesting. Pictures to come.}

Moral of todays post, being a working mom isn't easy. The hours are long. The sleep is little. But the moments together are sweet and priceless. It's a crazy life juggling everything but it's my life and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

  1. Hey Chelsea thanks for blogging. I love reading you blog to help pass the time while I nurse. Which I need as it has been pure torture lately as devan just about has all four front teeth. Can't wait to read you blog about that one in a few months. I have been fortunate to have my mom come here to watch the kids and she helps out a lot. But that will be ending soon it is getting to be too much for her. I may need some tips on how to speed up the process. It usually take about 2.5 hours for me to get myself and the kids out the door in the mornings on my own. That is if Addison cooperates. Suggestions are welcomed as I like as much sleep as I can get and every minute matters since devan is still getting me up around 3:00 every morning. My brain is turning to mush from sleep deprivation. Thanks for the laughs!!!
